Q: How do I know if psychotherapy is right for me, my child and my family?

A: Sometimes people, of any age, can feel disconnected, sad, angry, or tired because of hard things or unfair treatment. During our time together, we talk about your feelings AND the unfair stuff in the world—like someone being unkind because of your skin color, what your body looks like, who you love, or how your brain works. When we name those unfair things, you can feel stronger and more in control.

    Q: How can psychotherapy help?

A: Healing starts when you feel safe and supported. In therapy, you’ll embark on a journey of self-exploration, learn to manage big feelings tied to who you are, heal from unfair treatment and family pain, stand strong against discrimination, connect with others, challenge negative self-talk, and cultivate self-care to fuel hope in action.

Q: How long is each session and how often should I attend?

A: Life can get full and take some unexpected turns so I try to be as flexible as I can.

    • Sessions last about 50 minutes and fit around your school, family, and activities. If your social battery needs to recharge, we can end early .
    • You can come every week or every two weeks for steady support.

    • Virtual drop-in help may be available when things get busy or tough.

Q: What can I expect in my first session?

    • Agreements about confidentiality, consent, and working together

    • Real steps you can take to heal and make a difference

    Q: Are sessions confidential?

Q: Do you offer online or in-person sessions?
